We have arrived! We were not delayed in Toronto at all due to weather, and customs went smoothly. We were just on time for our connecting flight in Miami due to a "traffic jam" on the tarmac at the Miami airport. I am pleased to report that the flights were uneventful. We had a bit of trouble getting through customs in Nicaragua, but after a misplaced letter had been found, all of our bags made it through Nicaragua customs as well, without a hitch!
Upon arrival, we unloaded the truck into the casa visitas (visitor centre) at the orphanage. We then went down to the main hall to have dinner (noodles and beans) with the pequenos. The children then put on a traditional Nicaraguan dance for us. It was beautiful! (pictures to follow, I promise) The children are very friendly and warmed up to us quickly. Many found laps to sit in during the performance.
Tomorrow promises to be a busy day as we finish unpacking and setting up. Goodnight!
Please pray for us as we adjust to the culture and food here...it is definitely different that what we are used to.
